Chief Overseer
Guiding Force Used by God Almighty
Bishop Rebecca W. Fletcher
Fifth Administration
Bishop Rebecca W. Fletcher received the baptism of the Holy Ghost at the age of 15 in the House of God Church, Baltimore, Maryland. She answered the call of God immediately and began preaching the unadulterated gospel of God in 1941.
She began her religious training at the Keith Bible Institute while living in the home of our second Chief Overseer, the Late Bishop M.F.L. Keith. After she married Deacon James W. Fletcher in Philadelphia, God led her to open Bible study in her home. Neighbors and children from the community gathered faithfully for this evangelistic explosion. From this outreach, Chief Overseer, Bishop M.F.L. Keith appointed her to pastor and build an edifice in Wilmington, Delaware. A building was dedicated in September 1973. Bishop Fletcher served as pastor there from 1959-1976.
Bishop Fletcher has also served as pastor of the Philadelphia church for over 30 years. Many churches have been built and refurbished under her leadership, as well as many souls have been saved, restored, healed, and delivered through the power of Almighty God.
In 1981, she was ordained a Bishop, by our third Chief Overseer, the Late Bishop James W. Jenkins. Due to her dedication and faithfulness, Bishop Jenkins appointed Bishop Fletcher as Chief Helper. After the death of Bishop Jenkins, Bishop Fletcher continued her service as Chief Helper under the leadership of our fourth Chief Overseer, the Late Bishop James C. Elliott.
On the national level of the church she has served on the Supreme Executive Council, secretary of the General Trustee Board, secretary of the Ad Hoc Committee, Complex Committee Chairperson, Publication Committee Chairperson, Advisor to International Missionary Outreach Society, and as a Sunday Bible School committee member.
She is a certified Religious Instructor and she holds a Doctor of Divinity Degree and a Doctor of Theology Degree from Trinity Bible College.
On September 22, 2004, Bishop Fletcher was selected, anointed and ordained as the Chief Overseer and Senior Bishop of The House of God Church, Inc., Keith Dominion. She is currently also the Presiding State Bishop for the dioceses of Connecticut, Florida East Coast, Maryland, Pennsylvania/Delaware, Georgia #2, and New York. Bishop Fletcher’s administration theme and on-going mission is “Girdling the Globe with God’s Grace and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.” She is the mother of three children (one deceased) and the grandmother of two. Most importantly, she is an Elect Lady of the Lord.
